Feasibility calculator

This tool serves for an initial viability check for CHP & Polygeneration applications in the food industry. The use of the tool and the results are entirely at the risk of the user. If you need specialized help you can get it here.

Please answer the following questions:
1. Is there a natural gas connection available for the polygeneration technology, or suitable (waste) heat source near your plant?
2. Is the price of electricity clearly higher than price of fuel – preferably at least twice as high?
3. Is / are there part(s) of the factory energy system (which includes cooling devices) at the end or close to the end of their lifespan?
4. Is there room available onsite the food factory for additional energy device(s)?
5. Can heating loads of the factory be covered with hot air, hot flue gases, hot water or steam?
6. Does the plant have access to electricity grid as a seller?
7. Does heat buyer of surplus heat exists (additional heat consumer nearby / district heat company)?
8. Do substantial subsidies become available if polygeneration onsite is started?
9. Do thermal and electrical loads occur mainly simultaneously, and the heat/electricity load ratio then is close to 2.5?

If at least half of the issues in the above questions are answered positively then go ahead and choose a food plant category.
